Local and Regional Data Sharing at Michigan Department of Transportation - A Case Study

The Michigan Department of Transportation's non-trunkline federal aid (NTFA) traffic monitoring program relies heavily on local agencies to support MDOT’s data collection efforts. Local agencies provide important traffic data to MDOT. Leveraging MS2's agency-to-agency tool, MDOT has incorporated a large proportion of their local agency data into their Transportation Data Management System.
This presentation is delivered by Edward Potter, who manages the development, implementation, coordination, and analysis of Michigan DOT’s traffic monitoring program. Ed is an experienced Transportation Planner and strong information technology professional with a Master of Science degree in Geographic Information Science for Development and Environment.
